Client care
Saree Care
Handwoven silk and real zari reward patience. Cared for well, these sarees outlive us.
Cleaning
- Dry clean only — always the first wash, and ideally every wash thereafter.
- Never machine wash, soak, bleach or brush a silk saree.
- Blot a fresh spill gently with a dry cloth; never rub. Take stains to a specialist quickly.
Storage
- Store in the muslin sleeve supplied — never in plastic, which traps moisture.
- Refold along different lines every 3–4 months so the zari does not crack at the creases.
- Keep away from direct sunlight, damp and naphthalene balls; use dried neem or cloves instead.
- Hang heavier bridal pieces on a padded rod rather than folding them tightly.
Ironing
- Iron on the lowest silk setting, on the reverse, with a cotton cloth in between.
- Never iron directly over zari, sequins or hand embroidery.
- Avoid steam on tissue and organza.
Wearing
- Apply perfume and hairspray before draping; alcohol dulls zari.
- Use safety pins sparingly and at the seam, not through the zari border.
- Air the saree for a few hours after wear before returning it to storage.
Fall, pico and stitching
We can add fall-and-pico or stitch a matching blouse before dispatch — ask us when you place the order. Note that once these services are carried out, the saree is no longer eligible for return.
